As the designer behind Shadow Script, my goal was to bring evocative tension and visual drama of mid-century noir cinema, but with a modern, psychological twist. This work-in-progress poster series is about fictional thriller-noir films, each a standalone story about obsession, betrayal, and moral decay. The posters are unified by monochrome palettes, tight compositions, and distressed textures.
challenge.
I wanted the posters to look aged but not old-fashioned, vintage without nostalgia. That meant experimenting with texture overlays, slight misalignments, and a faux-print grain to simulate analog imperfections. I also had no full script. Just made-up titles and a tone, so the design had to hint a bigger story without revealing too much.
